What does Christmas mean to you?

What does Christmas mean to you?

Why am I writing about Christmas now you might ask? The simple answer is because we don’t know when Jesus was born. Some people suggest end of August/early September. It doesn’t really matter, this post is about Jesus’ birth.

God comes as a child.

And he chose to bind himself to humanity.

He chooses misfits.

  • Mary and Joseph (low status)
  • The shepherds
  • Abraham was old
  • Peter was impulsive
  • Martha worried
  • Zacchaeus was unpopular
  • Thomas had doubts
  • Timothy was timid
  • Ruth was a foreigner

In choosing to bind himself to humanity, God chooses people – people like us. Yes I am a misfit…… he chose me….. is he choosing you? Today?

Jesus came with a single purpose – to change our world and to choose us.

Christmas is a celebration but we so often miss the greatest gift of them all, the greatest gift you will receive – Jesus.

Merry Christmas
