Wisdom

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.

James 1 v 5-6

Curiosity, interest, play, initiative and hard work leads to learning. All folks have a level of intelligence, which we use to attain knowledge. If you use your intelligence in applying your knowledge at the right time or place, this will indicate wisdom.

Christian wisdom, that provided by God, brings with it extra gifting which helps you in using your intelligence and knowledge. When God provides you with wisdom he gives you discernment, guidance, confidence and compassion. God uses our natural abilities with his supernatural gifting.

I love God, he made me and chooses to use me, despite all my failings and grants me this gift of wisdom to help me on this journey.

A Prayer for wisdom:
That truth has been inscribed into my heart and into the heart of every human being,
there to be read and reverenced, thanks be to you, O God.

That there are ways of seeing and sensitivities of knowing hidden deep in the palace of the soul,
waiting to be discovered, ready to be set free, thanks be to you.

Open my senses to wisdom’s inner promptings that I may give voice to what I hear in my soul and be changed for the healing of the world,
that I may listen for truth in every living soul, and be changed for the well-being of the world.

J. Philip Newell

Post this at all the intersections, dear friends: Lead with your ears, follow up with your tongue, and let anger straggle along in the rear. God’s righteousness doesn’t grow from human anger. So throw all spoiled virtue and cancerous evil in the garbage. In simple humility,[...]

  • Do you know what you’re doing?

If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who “worry their prayers” are like wind-whipped waves. Don’t[...]

  • Temptation

Don’t let anyone under pressure to give in to evil say, “God is trying to trip me up.” God is impervious to evil, and puts evil in no one’s way. The temptation to give in to evil comes from us and only us. We have no[...]
